Mary Cuddy

"My Cuddy" came to be on the crew after an anonymous phone call from a Costco employee. Apparently Mary has a small, and when I say small I mean huge, problem with Kirkland Weight Loss Drinks. We do have a picture of the Cudster, but we need to shrink it down to fit. Please join with me in wishing her all the best and hope for a speedy recoveryMary Cuddy

Michael Dake

Michael Dake was born in the back seat of a 69' Trans-AM while en route to St. Charles hospital in Bend Oregon. When he turned 19, Mike joined the Forest Service and worked on engines and Hand Crews before getting hired on with Central Oregon Helitack in 06'.

Andrew Hastings

Andrew likes flexing his pecs in the mirror... 1... 2... 1... 2... 1... 2...
He started out in Diamond Lake (Umpqua National Forest). Enjoys skiing, traveling, and moonlighting as a super hero.

"Fire is one of those things - it's scary as hell, but somebody's gotta save those babies"

Adam Kahler

Amy Kazmier

Amy moved her way up the ranks and is now our fearless leader at Central Oregon Helitack. She has a slight problem with ADD, but with some help from Post it Notes, 3 cell phones and a fresh Starbuck`s card she`s getting the upper hand. She loves to play with her dog (The Chai Town Destroyer), eat chocolate, and buy rafts (but don't tell Phil).

Kim Knox

This is Kim's second year on the crew as the manager of our Type-1 Helicopter (BV-107) and she still has needs. I don't mean the kind of needs that any 1 crewmember can fulfill, I mean the kind of needs that take a Type 1 team. Spell checking documents, reenforcing the bubble and installing a larger speakerphone are just the tip of the ice berg with this gal. Oh, and just for giggles this crazy Cancer loves pirating wi-fi and sitting in the bed of her truck with her boots off.

Summer Myllymaki

Sooooooo, the Malheur Rappellers had a girl once and we stole her. Ok, seriously though it DID seem like a good idea at the time. Little did I know that she had a secret plan to deplete her sick leave, talk to me with her eyes closed and make the base smell like cheese (don't ask) immediately upon arriving in Prineville. Oh well...if you're ever at the BBC, pour a little micro on the hardwood for T-Pain and Roguey and smile. Summer only comes around once a year;)

Maryanne Pickett

"25 lbs. in my line gear...really??" Maryanne Pickett came to us after being with the Prineville hotshot crew for 3 seasons. after hearing about our line gear weight restriction and our flip flop policy she felt a little out of her element. She has adapted well though. She is going to Graduate school in the fall.

Norm Sealing

Fired up Norm is usually, well fired up. He is also one of the only 41 year old rappellers that I know of that can "crush" or "destroy" even the simplest of tasks. But being our only qualified spotter, we must respect his authority and remain the ADBA's that we are. Norm is detailed into the Assistant foreman roll for this year and is doing great thus far.

Ryan Swartz

Brian Tappan

Captain Tappan

Sarah Uvodich

Sarah is a regular ol' helicopter crewmember in her first season with the Central Oregon Helitack Crew, but somehow she's already the boss. She's been in fire since 2002, starting here in Oregon on the Umpqua and then spending 3 years with the Cedar City Hotshots in Utah before joining the Helitack Crew.

She enjoys talking on the phone with friends, twirling her hair, smoking good cigars and being critical. Sarah spends most of her free time practicing her radio voice in private

Matt Walch

This is Matt's third year on the crew. Previous experience includes IA engine crews and hand crews over the past 7 seasons, and yes he is still an FFT2. When not fighting fires he builds houses in the Central Oregon area, skis, and tries to break bones rodeoing. Matt is now one of the leads on the crew and is enjoying all the paperwork associated with it!

George Yocom

Bringing up the rear on our daily runs is George Yocom. George started fighting fire in 1970 as a member of the Redmond Interagency Hotshot Crew. He remained on the crew for 5 seasons until he was recruited by the local helitack crew because he weighed nothing and they were flying a Bell 47. George came to the BLM helitack program in 1984 where he remains to this day at the rear of the pack, but still running.
