The Central Oregon Rappel Crew is highly trained in the tactical and logistical use of aviation assets for fire suppression and can be rapidly deployed to incidents both regionally and nationally.
Our crew consists of 24 crewmembers including, 1 Base Manager, 1 Operations Manager, 2 Assistant Foremen, 3 Squad Leaders, 3 Senior Firefighters, and 14 temporary seasonal employees. We are an exclusive use crew designated for Initial Attack, Adaptability is key with missions ranging from wilderness rappel fires to Search & Rescue recon. We also have the ability to assist with extended attack and logistical support missions throughout the lower 48 and Alaska during the season as the need arises.
Our helicopter is carded for rappelling, bucket work, personnel transport, cargo missions, and low-level recon.
