The Central Oregon Helitack Crew is specially trained in the tactical and logistical use of helicopters for fire suppression and can be rapidly deployed to incidents within Region 6.

Our crew consists of 16 crewmembers, including our Foreman, Assistant Foreman, two Lead Crewmembers, two Senior Firefighters, detailers, apprentices and temporary seasonal employees. We are an exclusive use crew designated for Initial Attack within the region, so we maintain our IA readiness at all times. Flexibility is key with missions ranging from wilderness rappel fires to Search & Rescue recon. We also have the ability to assist with extended attack and logistical support missions throughout the lower 48 and Alaska during the season as the need arises.

Our helicopter is carded for rappelling, bucket work, troop transport, cargo missions, and low-level recon.
